Version 4.1.0
Hi Doc, here's what's new in Version 4.1.0.
New features
Some are new, and some are features from the old app that we have now brought over.
- Opening a document. You can now tap any income or expense document to open it. It shows the whole file and everything we read from it.
- Your billing statements are now here to view and download, so you can see what you have been billed, paid, and still owe.
- Pay and track. After you pay a statement, send it in from the app with a photo of your proof. You can then see all your payments and their status, and if one is turned down, you will see why.
- Your account at a glance. Your Medtax account number, plan, status, amount, and next billing date now sit right in your profile.
- A quick refresh. Just pull down on your profile to refresh it.
Pausing and resuming your service
You can now pause and resume your Medtax service on your own, without having to message your account manager first.
There are two ways your service can pause.
Whenever you need a break, you can pause your service yourself, right from your profile page. We stop sending new invoices, and your service pauses at the end of the cycle you have already paid for.
If a payment is ever missed, your service pauses on its own. Instead of everything stopping at once, your account eases through a few stages, and your information stays safe and easy to get back for a long time. Here is how it goes, starting from the day your payment was due.
- Limited access, month 1. Everything still works. The only thing on hold is approving and filing returns.
- Paused, months 2 to 4. The tools take a rest and we stop billing you, but you can still sign in anytime to look at and download your returns.
- Archived, months 5 to 24. We set your information aside so it is no longer open in the app, but nothing is deleted. Come back and it is all there.
- Deleted, at two years. If you have not come back by then, the account and its data are removed. We remind you 30 days, 15 days, and 1 day before, so you have time to save anything you need.
Coming back is easy. If you paused it yourself, just press Resume and settle anything you still owe. Your service picks up on the day you pay, and we do not charge you for the time it was paused.
If your service stopped because a payment was missed, settling what is due brings it right back. If you settle early, while access is only limited, your billing simply carries on as normal. If your account had already paused, it picks up on the day you pay, and the paused time is not billed.
All of this takes effect on Monday, October 5, 2026, and comes with updated terms and conditions that we will share with you next week.
- As long as you have an active COR, BIR requires you to file your taxes consistently, no matter your income.
- So if your service with us is paused or cancelled, please arrange for someone to take over your tax filing in the meantime.
Fixed
- Saving a document now saves it to your phone instead of opening a browser tab you could do nothing with.
- Tapping a document in your income or expense list used to do nothing.
- Sending a document near the end of a quarter could be refused, with a message saying it could not be filed into an earlier quarter. Receipts photographed in the last days of a quarter now go through.
- The filing checklist showed the raw filename from whichever phone took the photo. It now names the document.
- The home screen could say something was waiting for review when nothing was.
- The subscription section of your profile was blank.
- The version number shown in your profile was stuck at 4.0.0.
- Signing out showed an error, and could leave the previous account's information on the phone.
- Pulling down to refresh could show an error when you were offline.
- A payment that failed to send could not be corrected and sent again.
- The app reloaded and lost your place when an update notice appeared.
- The email verification notice would not go away after you verified. It now has an "I have verified" button and tells you if it has not come through yet.
- Notifications about statements and payments now open the right screen.
- Buttons are centred, and buttons and rows fit at the largest text sizes.
